On Friday 6th November 2015, Ela Motors officially unveiled the 8th Generation Hilux to its many Toyota & Hilux loyal customers in Port Moresby.
Guests were greeted upon arrival by the PNG swimming great & Hilux brand ambassador Ryan Pini at a special red carpet photo booth. A historic timeline of the Hilux generations was on display for customers to capture the evolution of the popular Ute from its 1st Generation to the current new generation Hilux. The previous Hilux model (7th Generation Hilux) is widely known in PNG as the “Fifth Element”, thus Ela Motors has dubbed the Next Generation Hilux as the “Sixth Element”. This was announced by CEO, Mr. Takeshi Abe as he and Mr. Yoshiaki Kato (Managing Director TTSPH) along with Ryan Pini, and the Chief Guest Hon. Justin Tkatchenko (Minister for Sports, Pacific Games & National Events) introduced the new Hilux to customers, guests and the media.
The unveiling of the Hilux was an elaborate production of lights, music and a fireworks show at the Rita Flynn Sports Complex to the anticipation of all who attended.
The glossy red Hilux 3Litre burst through the Hilux paper wall to the amazement of the crowd, followed by the 2.5L Hilux in a spectacular display with flares, smoke and fireworks choreographed with a music production.
After the grand reveal, customers, guests and the media were invited to view the new Hilux models on centre stage as the flash of cameras continued to capture every moment.
Following this official Hilux launch in Port Moresby will be the other two major launches in Kokopo for the Islands Region and in Lae for the Northern Region. The excitement of the Hilux buzz is all around the dealerships, eager to sell the Sixth Element to the first owner in PNG.
